Did you know that Pennsylvania is the ONLY State in the entire Country that does NOT allow it's local police departments to use Radar?

Bristol Township is a First Class Township located in Bucks County in Southeast Pennsylvania(or Anytown, PA). It is approximately 16 square miles and has a population of 56,000 people. The police department has 77 officers and handles approximately 31,000 incidents and issues approximately 4,500 traffic citations a year.

The major highways within the township are U.S. Rt.13, PA Rt. 413, Interstate 95 and the Penna. Turnpike (Turnpike and I-95 are the responsibility of the State Police). The Bristol Township Police Dept. is responsible for 200 miles of streets and highways, including Rts. 13 & 413.

Bristol Township and the surrounding police departments need RADAR.

It has been suggested that municipalities would use RADAR to enrich the municipal budgets. First, it is against the law to require any kind of quotas for citations. Second, a municipality only receives half of the fine when a citation is issued and the violator pleads or is found guilty. If the violation is appealed the officer must appear in court and in most cases this involves overtime payments to the officer.

The bottom line is that every municipal police department in the country can legally use RADAR when enforcing the speed limits, except those in Pennsylvania.

The amazing fact that has come to light is the number of DUI drivers removed from the roads because of Police using RADAR. (Please see the endorsements page of actual State Policmen's comments)
It is time to send a message to our lawmakers to get off their hands and help save some lives for a change! EVERY OTHER STATE IN THE NATION uses radar, but somehow our Repesentatives think they are smarter then all the other States in the country..Please help wake them up NOW, before another life is lost !!!

About This Website

My name is Daniel Smith. I own this website. I have no political affiliation nor do I endorse any particular politician or party. I have no hidden agenda. I am just a person that has seen enough death and despair resulting from our police being powerless to enforce speed restrictions. The only thing I stand to gain from this website is to see some lives being saved. I own this webserver, I have not accepted any monies nor will I accept anything for this cause. For me, this is something that is long overdue in this state and this is the only way I know how to shout loud enough to hopefully get someone to notice and change the system. We are the ONLY State in the country that does not allow it's local police departments to enforce local speed laws. I beg your help. Please fill out the form and click on send. It will be emailed to EVERY State legislator in Pennsylvania and hopefully they will hear our voices. It's time for a change. Give our Police the power to enforce speed restrictions.
